Statement of Intent:


When I finish in June, the plan is to get out of Leeds, lets be honest its not the London of the north and its starting to grind! So I will start looking for jobs in the magazine industry, which means I need to develop the necessary skills in order to do so.
As I missed the introduction to typography and magazines in the first year and was experimenting with other things last year I intend to focus mainly around magazines both printed and online. I aim to teach myself all aspects of this from working with columns and the grid to type and composition. I think type is a big part of this so learning more about typography is very important.
I also intend to send some work to magazines to be shown, the likes of anti-magazine and maybe even to don't panic, which isn't a magazine but is still a platform to show your work.
There are a few things I would like to experiment with on the side, I would like to paint a mural in an independent establishment in Leeds somewhere. I will take on some free-lance work as I go.
